Added the 76mm, 4 Chimera launchers and the radar M391. From 1988 Navy started receiving the AS332F, with first units appeared on cruisers.

I do not think that I can add a separate ASROC launcher somewhere. Note that Kidd had 68 missiles total of which 16 were ASROC, so they had only 52 SM-1/2. Lysanders can have up to 68 SM-1/2, plus 16 ASROC in their Mk26.

Three different calibers of turreted gun systems, four different types of GMLS, three different types of gun or missile director... I would think about trying to achieve some maintenance efficiency if I were you.

Chimera and Adis I/Isis share the canister, this is the way they designed and all are indigenous systems. Sea Sparrow reloader is also of indigenous design (Mk29 is imported), while egg directors manufactured with license. All these three guns are used also in other ships, so there is already support chain behind them. Mk26 is the only unique GMLS to these cruisers.



Now STIR 180 instead of Selenia director. The SPG-51 are the -D variant, which side is correct for rear and front ones?

P.S Another position of Chimera boxes could be front, below bridge. Of course the front Dardo should be moved on deck higher.

The point is not that your navy has so many different systems (although this, too, is problematic). The problem is that your ship has so many different systems. This almost certainly guarantees that not everything will ever be operational at once, as you will be perpetually short on spare parts and well-trained technicians.

This can make sense if you're the Soviet Union and you can never guarantee that any given system will work right and/or be produced at sufficient rates, but I can't see it with better-trained crews and more access (at dockside) to spare parts.

I think also using well the HSA/Signaal eggs and STIR 180 I can guide also the Dardo, eliminating the Selenia directors completely.

If you compare this with the older Lysandros (that based on Italian design Zara and CNR Incrociatore Polivalente), weaponry is exactly the same. The length in front of superstructure in Lysander project is built for the 84 missile Mk26 GMLS.

I think that the wonderful AU American Strike Cruiser appeared some months ago can take two of these 84 missile Mk26.

The SSM appears in 1994 refit is the Adis I-ER, with single pulse internal rocket engine (instead the double pulse of other variants) and outside drop boosters. Two of these missiles hit the Limnos CLG in 1987. Adis I-ER has transonic speed and range about 160km. An downgraded export variant of this missile sold in Pakistan in 1990 named " SSM-85 Sikanter" (Alexander). Isis missile based on this frame with an rocket/ramjet engine similar with that of ASMP.

I mentioned also several times the AU SHAF R-55 bomber. The Buccaneer program was independent.

Origins of R-55 goes back to 1940, when SHAF revealed a four engined bomber which looked like a scale up Blenheim Mark V. This remained on paper only and after the war, work slowly started for developing a jet bomber. First project revealed in 1957 looked like a scaled up AW-169 with convectional tandem cockpit layout powered by four Aerodyne J-110, but final aircraft looked like a Valiant with features from P6M and M-4. About 120 airframes manufactured total, including prototypes from 1961 to 1973.

Variants:

R-55A : 1960-1964, iron bombs
R-55B : 1963-1968, iron bombs or up to three SSM-14 Artemis (one semi-conformed in bomb bay, two in wing pylons). The air launched Artemis did not proceed, as the missile was considered obsolete in late 1960's. However trials made and the missile was launched several times, against ships and land targets. Upgraded for indigenous laser guided bombs (also could carry Paveway).
R-55C : 1968-1973, last variant, could take more advanced weapons like Martel, ASM-20/24, Adis I etc and of course bombs (iron or lased guided). Last airframes built were actually -E variant. Last remainind R-55C retired in 2000.
R-55K : Modified R-55A, for air refueling. Could deliver up to 16.000lt of fuel with British designed equipment (Mk17). Retired in 1990, replaced by VC.10K
R-55D : Reconnaissance variant, modified R-55B. Retired in 1997.
R-55E : Electronic warfare variant, replaced by AC-122 EW. These were the last flying R-55, together with some R-55BM/CM.


The R-55 did fired in anger, during Cypriot War of 1974, firing both iron bombs and Martel missiles.

P.S Aktio and Souda bases in this scenario are established in 1930's, former for RHNA land based aircraft and latter for RHN as East Mediterranean Naval Base. Both designed with British assistance. After HLK entered NATO, these bases loaned to USA, but remain under Hellenic Government control. Just opposite Aktio, in Preveza, is the base of RHN Ionian Sea Command, roots of this base goes back in 1920's.

What about of giving F-105 Thunderchief to Turkey? This aircraft was proposed also for RHAF if remember, with the famous contest. Replaced from Tornado of course.

The cruiser again, I lowered the side Chimera launchers one deck.

I like this cruiser, though won't comment about technical issues.

Re: F-105 - I guess it would be relatively plausible, though I guess they'd make better deal with more F-4's.
