I know right now might not be the best time to consider shooting "in vogue" but I've been thinking about getting back into hobby/target shooting. I already have a .22LR but I've been thinking of picking up a Ruger .22LR because there are serious advantages from a hobby and competition standpoint for a pistol, plus getting a used Ruger shouldn't be too expensive. Besides a .22LR should be "politically correct" and I'm not looking for a self-defense/tactical weapon (but I am looking for cheap ammo)
Political correctness be damned, I'll do what I want...

Americans.

Here in Norway I am wondering about where I can get a good Thermos cup for use at work. Or wondering if I need something new "Porn"-tools for the kitchen. etc. but guns.... If the police here in Norway for example find out that I have just bought a gun or any type of weapon, they would probably send in the entire "Delta"-team at me. Or just a single old police man, with a bad haircut!!!

We've had the gun control debate before here and it never turns out well, given that most of our vocal members are from the USA and Europe (i.e., two vastly different cultures vis-a-vis personal ownership of firearms). So let's not go there again...

Suffice it to say that long-range (300m+) marksmanship with military surplus rifles is a hobby! As is collecting historically/militarily interesting weapons.

I think the next rifle will be a Swiss K-31. I've always wanted one!

Currently, my only functioning actual firearm is a single shot cap-n-ball pistol from the 1860's some friends gave me for my birthday last year.

Airsoft rifles and pistols, on the other hand, I could probably arm at least a platoon.
