The Viking ship is the biggest in the world of it's type with it's 35 meter. and 70 tons. it need 100 persons to row it, or 12-14 persons to sail it, they managed to get up in 13-14 knots a while back, but they haven't been pushing it relay hard.

There are basically two type of Viking ship:

- the small body, fast and very agile (warship)
- the wide body (pictures above), basically a trading ship.




I haven't sailed a traditional Viking ship, but they are build in similar fashion of the more modern boats on the same design:


and they are very good in the sea, while an modern sail boat are stiff and hard in bad weather... and very wet. a Viking ship or the more modern version ride the wave and the entire hull flex a lot at the same, the bonus is that almost no water get onboard.

The difference between this one and other replica, is that other replica is build on how science people believe viking ship was build, while this viking ship was build by the best boat builders in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Using Norwegian tradition hull design.
