pick your Frigate that will form the core of surface fleet. This will be a large multi-role surface combatant and specialized variants of the design will be a option (IE FREMM to FREDA or Type 26 ASW to AAW...) The choices come from current and projected export frigates in the ~6000 ton range.

Not entirely sure, though I like the Chungmugong Yi Sun-shin class (KDX-II) and the derived KDX-IIA.
It's based on a ship that's already in service so most of the engineering problems are likely to have been ironed out, and Korea have plenty experience when it comes to integrating AEGIS. The fact that it can carry two helicoters doesn't hurt either.

I really like the KDX-II also it also is a very well rounded ship and has the abortive NTU that the USN had planned to apply to the our non AEGIS ships, supposedly it is more precises then AEGIS at long range but couldn't handle a large scale saturation attack.

I would have gone for the Fridtjof Nansen class frigate. just because it has a growth rate of 500%!!!

it is also an ASW ASuW

500% really? anyway just to let you know the Nansen is in the F-100 family. I should of probably clarified that.

What else do I have in the fleet? Who else have I bought from? Am I protecting carriers? Am I running with the 'Phibs? Am I doing trade protection? All of these effect the final choice.

it's what they demanded
she is like any other built with a kind of container principle. everything can be changed or replaced and or ready for the next gen.tec.

It really doesnt effect anything but I will be doing a pull for OPV, Subs, Auxillaires, and amphibs; i have yet to decide if i want to get into carriers but ill work that out. The notional nation has a population of about 40-60 million and large amounts of raw material, it is still a developing country but is anothe subject. I have come up with a good paper airforce that is designed for maximum use and very budget conscious, if you want i could share that with you.

I like the KDX-II for the same reasons that have already been mentioned. Plus it just looks spiffy.

500% of what? Weight, volume, computing capacity, missiles carried or something else?
