The creator of the anime saga Space Battleship Yamato has passed away. I remember finding out about the series when I was first starting out in studying the IJN, and was ecstatic that someone loved the ship enough to create a series that brought her back to life. Sorry to hear of his passing...he will be missed.

I heard he was quite dissappointed when they found the wreck, and that it was split in two. Been a long time since I've seen any space battleship. Last I seen was the live-action movie.
