First off: The Nord The Haukka A-2 A two seater, twin-engine aircraft, and the first 5th Generation combat aircraft developed within the world of my AU (Henceforth the Gray). Though designated A for Attack, the aircraft is primarily used for reconnaissance flights and bomber interceptions on the border between the Nord and Aldel, amid rising tensions following the Zellingham Incident. There are plans to develop a single seat fighter based on the platform. The Haukka-Mardel F-20 'Chaser' A smaller aircraft making up the bulk of The Nord's Air Force. A joint development with The Nord's native manufacturer Haukka and Kallego's Mardel, and based on the platform of Mardel's fighter the F-19, radical modifications of the platform were required to fit the Nord's requirements for replacing their older aircraft. Named after the broad-bodied chaser. [Small notes: These two were my first FD scale drawings, so there will more than likely be inconsistencies in general style. I also hadn't come up with the idea of showing squadrons and variations of the aircraft at this point, I plan to add them in future edits/drawings] |

The Kingdom Of Aldel Ciel Aviation C.133 A small subsonic twin-engine attack aircraft, and primarily exported to smaller nations allied with Aldel. Many are stationed at the former Zellingham Air Force Base (formerly the Zellingham International Airport). The aircraft was based off a small trainer aircraft popularly used within the air force. Espion Industries Esper IV A large Twin-Engine Stealth aircraft developed as Aldel's primary fighter to replace its predecessor, the Esper III, as well as the second aircraft developed in response to Haukka's A-2. This aircraft incorporates stealth technologies, as well as the ability to control drone wingmen and is (in this AU) the first true fifth generation fighter aircraft developed. To reduce initial costs and reduce development time, several parts have been shared with/derived from the CF.440 such as the vertical stabilisers, landing gear and several mechanisms related to the internal weapons bays. Despite the cost cutting measures put in place, the Esper IV program still exceeded projected costs, forcing Aldel to reduce the amount of aircraft ordered. |

Thanks jjx! The Federal States of Kallego Mardel F-19 'Darner' A single-engine, delta-wing, multi-role aircraft, and the primary aircraft in use in the Kallegian Air Forces, prior to being phased out by the CF.440 Super. Named after the Darner Dragonfly. This is a depreciated drawing kept for archival purposes, click this text to see the new drawing and updated lore. Mardel A-3 A twin-engine dedicated ground strike aircraft developed by Mardel. A rare sight in terms of design, the aircraft boasts side-by-side seating in order to improve crew efficiency. Whilst the aircraft's design is fairly dated, it has proved effective in it's role for several decades, and as such does not see replacement in the near future. |

The sole existing aircraft of this type, Lansen's Model 3 is, as the name suggests, the 3rd different model designed and produced by a certain Mr Lansen, a former employee at Aldel's Ciel Aviation Bureau before defecting to The Nord, and his namesake aircraft design firm, located somewhere near the border between The Nord and Aldel. The twin-turboprop amphibious aircraft is originally designed to deliver people or supplies from populated regions of The Nord to more remote airports and lakes. Due to his past, Mr Lansen was known to be in contact with the Nordic government and their allies under the pseudonym ICONA 1, releasing details on the Aldelian Armed Forces he managed to gather over his stay in their country. At some point, Mr Lansen transferred the code-name to both the test pilot of the aircraft and the aircraft itself, before closing down his company, and shuffling his remaining documents onto the aircraft. ICONA 1 was reportedly last seen in Redwood. |

Rockowin Model 301.c Due to an increase in the intensity of wildfires over Redwood and neighbouring territories, the Redwood government created the New Firefighting Aircraft program (NFA), a program started to create new firefighting aircraft that can resupply at the larger bodies of water off the coast of Redwood, and to operate alongside converted firefighting aircraft. Several designs were submitted, with the Rockowin 301 being chosen. The aircraft is powered by two large high-bypass turbofans, enabling the aircraft to carry multiple thousand tonnes of water/fire retardant. There are several compartments on the aircraft: A forward passenger and cargo cabin, a rear cargo cabin, and 5 watertight central compartments, each of which can be converted for cargo or water storage, and can be accessed from the forward and rear cabins. 8 aircraft of the type were delivered to separate authorities in Redwood to increase coverage range, most of which based near the ocean. |

The Ciel Aviation CF.440 is a twin-engine, multi-role naval aircraft developed in and operated by The Kingdom of Aldel. At the time of the program's inception, the Aldelian Navy sought to reduce the number of unique airframes in order to decrease costs. This resulted in the CF.440 requiring to fill out the roles of Air Superiority, Ground Striking, and Electronic Warfare. Whilst not a true stealth aircraft like Espion Industries Esper IV or Haukka's A-2, the CF.440 does have some reduced observability capabilities. There were several delays during development that led to the delay of the introduction of the aircraft into Aldelian naval service. Some issues could not be fixed by the time the already postponed deployment of the aircraft came around, and are set to be rectified as the aircraft's lifetime passes. This is an updated drawing of the CF.440, as well as updated lore. This is part of an ongoing process of re-drawing older stuff as well as fixing/adding lore. |

The M-8 is a light, twin-engine, delta wing fighter aircraft, designed by Aeronautica Aldeliana. In the late 50's, the kingdom of Aldel became interested in the prospects of supersonic flight, proposed a new fighter aircraft to keep up with both their peers and their enemies. Aeronautica Aldeliana, one of the countries nationalized aerospace companies, was brought up to the task, and developed the M-8 (or Model 8), nicknamed the Delta for it's wing configuration. Put into service by 1963, the aircraft served for over 20 years with several variants including, but not limited to: A Variant: Initial production model, powered by two Foss F22.1 afterburning turbojets C Variant: New tail fin and ventral fin, overhauled sensors S Variant: Engines replaced with more powerful Foss F24.3 afterburning turbojets -2 Suffix: Two seat training variants with extended fuselage to accommodate for instructor/co-pilot The aircraft type was retired in 1987 by the Aldelian Air Force, and completely by all combat forces by 2001. |

See above: Orthographic of A Variant During the development of the M-8 Delta, Aeronautica Aldeliana (AA) also proposed the idea of a significantly larger, hypersonic bomber interceptor based on the M-8. This design study was known as the M-9 'Delta II' and was scuttled halfway through development by the Aldelian Government as costs shot through the roof, and cheaper alternatives such as advanced Surface-to-Air missiles began appearing. However the data gathered from the study was reused in the development of a new air superiority aircraft. The M-12 'Delta III' is a large twin-engine air superiority aircraft. A radical departure from the M-8, the M-12 was designed and developed with data from the proposed M-9 Delta II interceptor (albeit minimized to some degree) and with assistance from the Kallegian aerospace firm Mardel. The aircraft retains the two seat layout from the Delta II, (Pilot and Weapons System Officer) as AA considered it cheaper to develop at a two seat aircraft that can be used for both combat and training operations, instead of creating two separate variants, as well as reducing pilot load. This was reverted in the later C (single seat) and D (two seater) variants. (The B designation was omitted due to possible confusion). The aircraft is powered by two Foss FTF.230 afterburning turbofans, propelling the aircraft to speeds approaching Mach 2.5, and allowing a large payload capacity. Introduced to the Royal Aldelian Air Force in 1981 due to hefty delays in the program attributed to such a radical divergence from what AA is used to producing, the aircraft has spawned many variants, the primary of which include: M-12 Delta A: Initial production variant introduced in 1981. Twin seat aerial superiority fighter carrying up to 4 March M.130C all aspect missiles on underwing hardpoints, and 4 March M.230A radar guided missiles in fuselage recesses on the underside of the aircraft. Canards added as preproduction aircraft without canards produced 'undesirable flight characteristics'. M-12 Delta C: Single seat improved variant introduced in 1989. Second seat replaced with mission equipment. (B ommitted, see above). M-12 Delta D: Two seat version of the Delta C also introduced in 1989. Primarily used for training with secondary combat capabilities. The aircraft continues to be in service in Aldel through many minor modifications, and has been exported to many countries over the years, the majority of which operate aircraft to present day. Note: Manufacturer calls variants Delta+Designation, Delta III name is used when referring to aircraft as a whole. Aircraft in service of the Royal Aldelian Air Force. |
