Hey all,

I was watching the old movie PT-109 on tv last night and it reminded me that I plan on drawing some MTBs possibly in FD scale. One question I have for them is what would be the best way to draw them positioned? On the step or on displacement?

Reason I ask is that I've got a great collection of plans and reference material but they are all mixed in whether they show the keel horizontal or the deck.

draw them in the same way as in SB-scale just in FD scale.

At "rest" I suppose as many WWII destroyers would otherwise be quite similar

Alrighty then, thanks. I'll have to rotate a few images to get the waterline right but shouldn't be an issue.

At "rest" naturally, and hoping to see those soon.

The problem with drawing a level deck is that the decks weren't necessarily always level. I ran into this problem drawing the Elcos, and speaking of which I think those could do with a redo but I claim them. ;)

Yeah, planing boats tend to be really ass heavy.

That's the reason why I asked, as most MTBs have slopping decks and the only real level reference point is usually the painted on waterline which would leave the boats looking different under SB and FD scales.

I'm actually planning on drawing Russian and Japanese boats possibly, and maybe some Royal Navy stuff. Also got some good plans on the Royal Navy steam boats of WW2 that could be good.
