You are talking about Brigade, and brigade is mechanized unit.

Yes, brigade remained "mechanized", but it's battalions not.
And note that unit name-changing was generally rather frequent in our armed forces in the last 20 years (well, could be said that 65 years).

Ours Ordre de Bataille is simple, we have mechanized company, motorized and armoured ect: this is theory. And our units names ... armoured cavalry, air cavalry, ulans, rifles, mounted rifles ... madness! historical but madnes. Glorfindel use generic company sheet.

And it's all true what are you saying about frequent name changing, you know ... every political party what to change something becouse that other party was evil. Civilians rule army, and thats why there is always a one big ... you know what. ;)

"3 Ensigns"? Isn't it a naval rank?

Ensign is the traduction of the russian term Praporshchik, which is also an army rank.

Ensign is historically the "Flag-bearer" of infantry regiment and now the first rank of army/navy commissioned officer (Germany, Poland, Russia), a sort of sub-lieutenant.

Hmm, I always thought that it would be "Warrant Officer" for army and "Midshipman" for navy...
You are not using some online translator to translate ranks to English, are you?

Other than that it's a great job btw ;)

The British army had ensigns until 1871 when they were replaced by second lieutenants.

Most post-Warsaw Pact armed forces has ensign officer's rank, above sergeant and below second lieutenant as the lowest officer's rank.
