Yes, I meant the Orbital Sciences but couldn't think of the name! This is of course unless the last RAF TriStars are not scrapped and actually are exported (which now seems unlikely). |

The last RAF TriStar (actually two, so they can both serve as camera ships) had their last flight on Tuesday. I suspect one, two or even three will be static displays but there is little incentive to not scrap the rest. These are very, very old and well-worn airframes that certainly gave good and valuable service and the British taxpayers certainly got their quidsworth out of them. and yes I'm totally going to make "quidsworth" a thing |

As far as I know none are scheduled for preservation in the UK, the RAF Museum hasn't the funds to preserve one, which was the same story as the VC-10. Hopefully one might end up in another collection like Bruntingthorpe. The TriStar was never a high-profile type in RAF service and being a non-UK design too means it has a low profile. Which is a shame really. |

Ok I get side-tracked pretty easy, but here is my take on the Hutter Hu-211 with Jumo 222 engines (WIP), of which two protoypes existed but IIRC, were destroyed in a bombing raid in Dec. 1944. I scratch built a He-219 and modified it to the one blueprint of the Hu-211 i could find. Critiques welcome as always. |

Nice work Imperialist, though Thiel has already drawn the He-219. If you can find it in one of the old threads... |

This isn't an He-219, it's a Hutter Hu-211 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H%C3%BCtter_H%C3%BC_211 |

I know that, I was merely saying that if imperialist was looking for a ready-made He-219 fuselage, that one exists. This seems to be out of scale though, the Hu-211 was 16.5m long = 364.5 pixels, this is 353 pixels long. The Hu-211 was around 1m longer than a standard He-219. |
