I have German blood and I don't care, it could be drawn the wrong way and in pink, I just give a f***.

Btw. I am this forum joker,so predict that I can come with bad jokes from time to time.

Tounushifan...

Yeah real FD master that can't draw a simple swastika.
Maybe He doesn't want to draw it in "correct" manner? Maybe it's "damaged" deliberately due to political associations?

You said yourself that the members decide what's good or not. Why throw my opinion out?
Don't get me wrong, I don't want to discourage You nor purge You from this forum, and nobody is "throwing Your opinion out" but:
1) When I wrote that remark above, I didn't mean that there is some formal voting on quality of drawings, but just that it's not up to You to declare "hey, it's my work and it's great", but it's up to us - the viewers.
2) You've earlier raised the issue of the length of the swastika's arms, and that's something You're 100% entitled to. But You were repeating that ad nauseam and even worse - after moderator wrote to You (in green, which means it was official) to drop it, You started arguing, and that's a big NO here.
3) And now something about brutal reality. You're a new member here, who has shown certain talent, but so far made just several drawings in FD style and who is still learning the rules and principles. DarthPanda is a long-time, extremely respected member, who has made hundreds of top quatlity drawings, and whose work in FD scale - among those made by Alvama and WhyMe are considered here as defining highest standards of quality.
It does not mean that DarthPanda has automatically higher IQ than You, or that You could never match His skills, or that He can be never wrong (since if He would make an factual error - it would be 100% ok to point it out regardless if You're a total newbie or equally established member - but that whole swastika discussion is about quality and styllistical issues).
But it does mean, that at this point You're in no position to say to Him "hey, your work looks ok, but I want you to change some things to my liking or else I won't tell it's good". Right now You're in a position of a guy who recorded something on his cellphone, put it on a YouTube, got some positive comments and suddenly started to criticize Steven Spielberg about quality of his work. ;)

Hmm, more bullshit. At least it's not in the FD scale thread any more!

I hope Tounushifan doesn't take all this to heart and gives up on Shipbucket. His (assuming you are a guy) work is rather good compared to the first attempts of many members, including me.

I must disagree that his posts are 'bullshit' as, in fact (sorry DP!) the swastikas do appear inaccurate. We strive towards accuracy here, don't we? Just because a new member appears to be stubborn and re-raises his views when they are dismissed, does that really justify insult? I wonder if I would have had the same reaction had I posted the same content.

And as for humility, there are some established members who willingly 'toot their own horn' and have a superior air when posting, should this be a privilege reserved for the few?!

Hmm, I feel I am adding to the - how do they say in Germany, shitstorm? - with my own post of bullshit now, but I feel that I should play the devil's advocate here.

Well you know there is just one God....and so on.... ;)

In the end there is no "good drawing" or "bad drawings", only one standard and that is that wheter it's acceptable to the shipbucket archives or not. Some drawings are better than others, some by plain obvious and by general understandmend of quality among the society but for some drawings its impossible to determ it's quality compared to others, its becomes the matter of taste and objectivity starts kicking in.

So indeed the new kid does decent enough of FD drawings. They are good enough. Is there a room to improvements in his skills and drawings? Ofcourse, everyone can do better. But thats up the the levels where it's down to peoples own taste and artist ego/pride issues.

This thread doesen't really serve any purpose. The discussion was offtopic in the orginal thread but not valuable enough to have it's own thread. The discussion in this thread will end up only in tears. Thus I'm closing it.

God has spoken

PS: And yes, Darthpanda's swastikas are bit off, the new kid is right in that regard.
