No it's not. Even the most remote areas of space as at least a couple of Kelvin.
Closer to home in the space around earth the temperatures gets much higher. Around 500K if memory serves.
That reminds me, keeping this thing straight is also going to be a major issue due to the enormous temperature differences between light and shadow.
Anyway, even if space were as cold as you claim it also happens to be a vacuum. And it just so happens that vacuum is mod of the best insulators known to man.
