Still a WIP.

With the basic design down, I start to try to find out where the rest will be and where I have to adjust the drawing.

Ahhh...I wish I'd have the money to commission you to design a yacht for me, Henrik! Of course, I'd have a few suggestions... ;) :D

Same, same.

When drawing a vessel like these can take a lot of time, just on trying to get the design correct, the design of a smaller version of the vessel started already in 3. October 2013 and looked like this:

and after thousand of modification and redesign:

Have been several updates to the 1700 drawing.

- salon layout have been adjusted and finished. (TV will come down from a roof compartment)
- Flybridge, staying simple and similar as the 1400, deck size of the flybridge are not increased so much from the 1400 design.
- Started on the first design solution for bellow deck interior. At the moment are working on a 3 cabin solution with 2 bath/WC room. (I will experiment on replacing the closed on the starbord cabin with a small toilet)
- place in holder for the main engine. engine range will be from (2 X 625hp VP engine (1250 hp) to 2 X 900hp VP engine (1800 hp). speed: from 25 to 35 knots)

Then I have added what I wanted to add on it. There might come changes to it in future, new ideas... But for now this is blue.

I had a look at this old drawing I did back in the day, and decided to update it (see the second picture)

[ img ]

I updated it to this, what I did:

- Keep the original line, but softened it up a bit and gave it a bit more modern look.
- Interior is the same with some small changes.
- same large aft deck, but with some changes to the placement of the sofa.
- Total redesign on the for-deck.

On this drawing I am illustrating it as an vessel with Water-jet, but any type of powerplant is possible. And due to an Convex hull shape I want for it, it have massive internal space, making it ideal for an hybrid engine layout.

The cool thing is that she looks bigger than she is.

General data:
Length: 14.38 meters
Beam: 4.5 meters
Depth: designed, 0.80 meter
Weight: Estimated: 15 tons (+3 tons as hybrid)
Engine: any propulsion in a twin configuration. up to 1300 hp
Speed: depending on powerplant, 22-38 knots
Beds: 6 to 7 fixed beds.

I think this is one of the best design, I have done to now.

The art of never become happy....

Adjustment, modification:

- adding in skylight on both Toilets.
- adding additional skylight over the master bed... "looking at the stars".
- adding skylight over the hallway and master cabin.
- cleaning up some hull shapes... make them more "flat"
- changing the outdoor sofa color, to the same color as the interior sofa.
- making the outdoor deck more connected with the interior deck.
- changing interior deck color.
- provide galley with more bench space.
- small adjustment on the bridge.
- minor color adjustment.
- adding a wood detail on the aft part of the superstructure.
- replacing the three large windows for the center cabin's with two large windows.. giving it a more harder look.
- small adjustment on the engine and air-conditioned air intake.

Todo:
- work on giving the interior a more soft, modern color and Scandinavian feel/look.
- Testing out a wide-body variant.
