I do wonder, why the 2 guns below main deck level? what is their purpose? they look to be of a different type too (shorter barrel) How are your machinery spaces split? boilers under the funnel, and turbines under the mainmast and aft of the Q turret? It doesn't look too bad, I am really wondering about a 5 turret battlecruiser though, I cannot remember even one being actually build. |

battleship: you wouldn't want to have the engine room under the main turret. Quit often on high caliber main turret, they penetrate all the way down to the keel. Engine room and boiler room tend/sometimes/often to be over several decks. http://media.gettyimages.com/illustrati ... ?s=170667a http://abload.de/img/cutaway-1-rheinlandoaudb.jpg |

yes except that engine and boiler room would go from keel to above waterline.. depending on engine type (turbine or classic piston (compound)... or a combined system) you could do an Titanic. forward engine room have piston. And a aft engine room (between turret) where you can have an low pressure turbine, using leftover pressure from the compound engine. since she is an large BB/dreadnought, and era of build... I believe more in that she would have compound, if not they are willing to push the technology on a large ship (knowing how slow the British admiralty was to the interest in turbine) |

Design questions aside, the quality of the drawings is rather nice. Good work! |
