Hello

My first official contribution, thought I post here first though. I'm entirely sure if I used the template correctly though, it says not to change the canvas size but the template doesn't seem quite tall enough. Anyway, the sources I had to work from were not the best, so I made her as accurate as I possibly could, but some of the smaller details might be off a tad, as good photos of the upper decks seem hard to come by. Also the windows just forward of the funnel I believe are correct, but some photos show it as open area, others show it has covered with windows. Also I'd like to thank Novice for providing me the resource drawing, the one I was initially working from was small and showed the ship in her later post refit configuration (which I may do later, maybe). Also is it ok to use imgur? I could not get photobucket to stop resizing my image, followed the instructions here to no avail. I prefer imgur myself anyway.

Looks great for a first drawing. :)
I'd say, though, that shading looks bit odd to me (from the standpoint of SB standards) - esp. below lifeboats, also places like masts or cranes just beg (IMHO) to add to them some shading to show they are rounded.

Some time ago someone posted the RMS Caronia and they had similar life boat shading, I liked the way it looked so I tried to emulate it. I did apply some shading to the masts and crane, perhaps I need to add a bit more.

Aside from what's been mentioned the shading on the under water details looks a bit wonky as well. Other than that it's one hell of a first drawing!

How exactly, is it the bilge keel?

Very well done Cunardfan, for a first drawing. I also think the bridge doors look smaller than they should be.
Lifeboats: Apart from the shading mentioned earlier, all outlines need to be in black, which the upper part of the lifeboats do not.
I think Thiel refers to the shading on the stern part, especially where the propeller shaft joins the ship's hull.
Other than that a superb first work.

Made a few changes, outlined the life boats, slightly enlarged the bridge doors per Novice's suggestions. Still having issues with the shading around propeller shaft. Assuming I can fix up the propeller shaft, what else needs to be done for my drawing to be moved into real designs board? Is my detailing alright? Does the template need to be adjusted at all?

Its a lovely drawing, aside from the fact the template is one size too small, as the credits and scale bar are too close to the rigging.

The next size template seems a bit big, what are the rules for sizing templates correctly?
