Hello everybody. I've always like the Brooke class. not sure what it is but they are just cool. So I thought it would be a good project for my first real ship.

What do Ya'll think? is this a acceptable way to draw? or am I cheating?

Its cool. but i think you should find a nice linedrawing of the ship and work on it.

The Brooke has already been drawn by Colo, but I can't seem to find it on the archive.

I wouldn't advise drawing from a photo, the angles and scales are often wrong due to the perspective and the details often aren't clear. Using a line drawing is better for the base drawing and then use the photo for detailing.

Yes, I drew this class many years ago. Tim updated the drawing with new parts and I thought it was in the archive, but seems it may have been missed in the last few uploads.

thanks. I've scoured the net for line drawings but cant find any. I did find a shipbucket drawing somewhere, but it was so small I couldnt even tell who drew it, but I could tell it was the Brooke. So I decided to do Talbot beause it has the reload capability for the ASROC launcher

I typed in "Colosseum Brooke Class" into google and it was the second picture.

Some French site chopped everyone's name off of the credits. But it says "Brooke" on it.

I also drew uniforms, but not much anymore.

This is odd. I had fixed Colo's drawing, and I swore I had uploaded. I'll get it on the main site later this week:

That's the old version. I have *that* in PSD on my hard drive.

That particular site, removes the credits from the drawings, but adds them below the image including a link to Shipbucket as seen from the image below

drawing from pictures is excusable for me if you have no other means of drawing the vessel. if there is already an shipbucket drawing of the vessel, you have an high chance that one is more accurate then what you can draw from pictures.
for redrawing an existing shipbucket drawing, I myself only thrust general arrangement plans and building plans of the navy which operates the ship or the yard which build it, unless I can prove the original drawing is off quite a lot, in which case drawing from for example friedmans are acceptable to me. if no other sources are available, I can of course always try to draw the ship from an sketchy plan or even an picture, but that is the final option to me.

hope this helps ;)
