first of all, welcome aboard. not a bad start, not at all! was this scratch drawn, or did you base it on another shipbucket drawing? while it seems not to match up everywhere with the real ship, it is hard for me to see where exactly.... may I see your source lineart? also, there seem to be some parts which need updating to the latest standard, most notably the Mk 45 gun, Harpoon launchers, LW-08, directors and lynx helicopter. most if not all of these parts can be found here: http://www.shipbucket.com/images.php?dir=Parts%20Sheets, except for the lynx helicopter, (of which the thai version might not have been drawn of the latest version....) there also seem to be a few missing pixels at the bow and anchor, and you lack shading at some places (most notably, the bridge wing roof) |

Welcome to Shipbucket! It's a good start indeed. It looks that indeed some parts may need updating, shading on the superstructure could be slightly more refined, and You should correct the crediting (in the upper right corner "MConrads" should be replaced by Your username, and perhaps of those members - if there were any - on whose drawings You might have based this drawing), but otherwise it's a nice job. |

try using 11 for text and 8 for credit lines (or even 10 and 7 if your MSP allow it) |

It's because the original font sizes are defined for Photoshop. for MS paint you should use 10 and 7 or 11 and 8 (the actual closest sizes are 10.5 and 7.5, but MSPaint doesn't support half-point font sizes IIRC).

Looks better, but I still see some issues about the title (it's called "anti-alliasing" or something like that), and not enough shading. Here's the schematic top view of (unspecified) ship, showing how sides of the superstructures should be shaded: General rule on SB drawings is that light shines from the top and bow (so roughly upper right corner of the template - well, maybe at more "upper" angle). |

eswube, not necessary need he shade that way. many famed artists on here, like TimothyC and Colo do not use this most of the time. what should be done though, is if he uses it on one spot, he should use it on all, or on none. a few things: - the bridge front looks a bit off. normally, the lines of that angled surface are most likely not paralel - are you sure the Mk 45 gun is the 127/62 and not the 127/54? - those directors on top of the bridge and on the hangar look like STIR variants to me, I might be wrong but at the very least they do not really look like what is on now - the harpoons are still old parts - the LW-08 foot looks a bit too small for the stabilisation equipment that is required for it - may I see the lineart? that would prove me wrong on some of the above or would show me where corrections need to be made...... |
