I am going to go though my Britannia folder and changing the drawings.
To kick the thread off I have a huge battleship.

APDAF, I'm going to be frank with you. This drawing is not - in ANY way - an improvement of previous drawings. While your Rhineland designs weren't shining examples of how a ship and an SB drawing should look like, they were better than this, which is essentially five steps back. So while I think it would be best for you to actually do a RL ship(I know I'm not the one to talk, but heck, I learned some in the process), and if not, return to your Rhineland designs(the scenario is still wonky, but really, that's unimportant), and polish them, becouse they looked like they would actually end up in something. /KHT out. |

APDAF, here's a tip that may help you some: Instead of drawing ships inside the template, draw them in a large Paint file. Draw your ship in the center, and copy-paste drawings of similar vessels around it. This will allow you to use them as a close-at-hand reference for things such as length, draft, freeboard, details, structure and equipment placement, ect. I recommend (and most people would most likely agree with me) against using this to make kit-bashes, instead work on your drawing skills first. As an example, here's one such file that I used to draw my Schwabenkof Class: (Link for large image) Ultimately, drawing real ships is one of the best meathods for improving your skills, but this may help if you insist on not trying one. |

I am particularly bemused by the prospect of two-abreast large boats on either side of the funnels (sans crane, of course), above two different inset-levels of superstructure. Surely the ship's beam is 150ft or more. |

I have redesigned my dreadnought class as I have had a lot of time to rethink about a lot of things. Yes I have looked at the real HMS Dreadnought. I have now added some preliminary masts and have started to redo the bridge. The stern area has been reworked. |

Hm... doesn't look too shabby. The masts look very thick though. I'd also advice you to look a bit on how the different "legs" of tripod masts are, so to speak "tied together". I like the look of the "flying" flag at the bow. Maybe a bit static, but it's hard to do good looking flying flags. |
