Hi I am new to this site and would like to share my first drawing. I have based it very loosely around the Type 42 Destroyer class and have named her Ardent in memory of the Type 21 Frigate, HMS Ardent, sunk in 1982. As I say this is my first drawing and I know I have a lot of work to do to get it to the required standard. I am therefore very welcoming of constructive criticism and advice on how to improve this first design.

Now the awkward bit...I cant figure out how to attach an image (I am new here after all!) so if somebody would be so kind as to explain how to do this then I would be very grateful!

I am fairly computer illiterate and took a while figuring this out when i started on here. most of us use dropbox, so once you have that open it and there will be a folder that is called public. save your picture there. right click on it and one of your options will say dropbox, mouse over that and one of the options will be copy public link. click that and then open open a draft on this website, click image at the top center and it will give you brackets in your dialogue box. right click and paste between the brackets. then preview your draft and your picture should show up. if you delete your pic from dropbox, or change its name, it disappears from the post also.

Two points:
One the color of your windows and portholes, doesn't conform with the standard.
Second: Hull shape is , well wrong. look at the Real life image of the Type 42 DDgs and other ships from that era. The sharp bow above the water line doesn't fit the bows shape below the water line.
Some pixels are missing from parts like the gun-house and big radome above your bridge, as well as the little radome in front of it.
The propellers are from the old parts sheet and should not be used. You can use from real life ships, which were your inspiration.

I understand that the shape of the ship as a whole is wrong; as I said I based it only very loosely on the Type 42 (mainly the armament) and I got the hull of a parts sheet on the Shipbucket website, where can I find newer part sheets? I also do not plan to draw any real design ships yet as I am still getting to grips with drawing ships.

On a lighter note, thanks for the feedback, I will work on improving each design
