Ive been here for a while and still post in the beginner forums... How do you tell if you are ready to put your new ships in the other forums?

If I'm not mistaken, it's the mods who give you permission to use other forums when they are satisfied you can draw in the shipbucket style. I think its much harder to progress when you start off with imaginary ships. Have a go at a real life ship and explore the past threads in this forum. They are a rich vein of information for anyone wanting to learn.

All the best.

Do a real ship and if you do that one good, then the mods will talk about step 2

I don't think the staff controls who posts in the beginner forum. If you feel you're ready to post somewhere else, just go ahead and do it.

What's the worst that will happen? You'll get a little green text warning and your post will get moved. ;)
