Hi chaps,

I'm primarily on shipbucket to design naval hardware for my micronation (not nation-states rubbish, we simulate a legislature, military, elections etc), and used to simply modify existing vessels for my navy, but this soon got boring. I've therefore tried to do it utterly from scratch, and this is the first vessel I'm come up with - a CODAG frigate (type 45 specs) with the PAAMS system, one Kashtan and eight harpoon launchers. This is very rough so far but I'm worried about the superstructure. Some feedback would be excellent!

I believe I've worked out who I have to credit - Bezobrazov, H.Heuser, Mihoshik and Crazyhorse but I think there may be more. This is just a bag of ideas at the moment though, which is why I haven't rendered it into a shipbucket template.

Well it shows promise however the choice of CIWS is a bit odd however, a western system would be a much more feasible choice. If I'm honest though Id aim for something slightly different and less type 45 like or go for modding up an actual type 45. Still that's just my opinion.

Sir, while it would honor me to have my tag tagged to such a promising drawing, I cannot see why? If you can point it out to me, then I might be able to tell whether it's necessary or not.

^ I took the mounting for the S1850M on my drawing from your Swedish 'Tre Kronor' ship.

That's the point, Blackbuck - I used to just mod Slavas and type 45s for my navy amongst other things, but I really wasn't enjoying it and would rather just do the whole lot from scratch. That's why I've done this one in the first place.

I was also a bit concerned about the Kashtan-M - I read that Phalanx-II was being replaced by C-RAM because CIWS missiles were better than guns in some circumstances to destroy missiles that 'leak' beyond the principle AA systems of a ship such as this. I wanted to keep guns in my CIWS system though for a backup and also to provide secondary fire support after the Mod 1 155 mm gun so that I wouldn't need to pop on OTO Melaras or anything like that which would take up more space. Thus, the Kashtan-M seemed like a good option.

I'm not only going for western systems though - my principal missile system across my fleet is a Mk-41 strike VLS (ASTER-30, ASTER-15, VL-ASROC and RGM/UGM-109B and RGM/UGM-109E Tomahawks) (With SAMPSON, the S1850M and most of the Type 45's electronics as standardized across my fleet) and the RGM-84 Harpoon, but my cruiser and TAKVR kirov thingy (I'm going to do that after the cruiser) will be using the P-800 Onyx/P-700 Granit anti ship missiles guided by the Soviet 'Punch Bowl' SATCOM system (as they are on the Kirov and Slava classes).

While I (as a staff member) appreciate your effort at crediting - the S1850M would be classed as a part, and does not need to be credited.

Keep up the good work.

I'm not sure what you are crediting from me since I have drawn so bloody many ships!

Yeah, nicely put. [/sarcasm] :x I'm part of that "rubbish", as are several others here, so lets watch who we are calling names and insulting. How about that for an idea?

I wanna see it templated - looks a bit naked and bland without a helicopter and...some other details that I'm sorry I can't put a finger on.

Not sure about the front surface search radar's position and the CIWS. Perhaps Phalanx and Goalkeeper will be better for a British-ish ship. You may want to replace the Harpoon with the newest part and and the gun under the funnel seemed weird IMO.
