This is my design for a general corvette I've decided to call the Sabre class. This is my first posted drawing so I'd appreciate any constructive criticism please. |

not bad, not bad at all! there are some colouration issues, some outdated parts, the radar fit would most likely be jammed due to interference .... in short the usual beginners mistakes. it would float though, and the U/W hull looks more or less right. btw, I do not know for certain, but certain parts might need crediting |

That's usually a sign of kitbashing, which means SilentRunning would need to properly acknowledge such. But agreed not a bad start, a reasonable ship. |

Looks pretty big and heavily armed for a corvette! Maybe a frigate might be a more apt name? And yes, it looks like a pretty good start! |

Well first off thanks for all the positive comments. I've tried to address a few issues that were mentioned and hence below is my updated Sabre class frigate.
Looks pretty big and heavily armed for a corvette! Maybe a frigate might be a more apt name?
I've now changed the designation from corvette to frigate as it is a bit above corvette size and as jezza says, it is fairly heavily armed for its size. And yes, it looks like a pretty good start!
A promising start, my minor niggles are as follows.
The draught is now slightly greater and hopefully the area under the rudder is looking slightly better now. I decided to have a bit of a switch round with the rear mast/funnel and I quite like how it's turned out. FYI the crane is duplicated on the port side and is designed to allow stores to be lifted on board, allowing the ship to dock in harbours where there is not necessarily the facilities to allow rapid replenishment. Sounds a bit strange I guess but it makes sense to me.
Also I decided to redesign the forward mast so now it looks similar to that of the type 45 and fitted it with Artisan 3D radar (courtesy of RP1 - thanks ). What do you think? |
