Hi everyone, newbie here.

I'm currently working on a Shipbucket style rendition of the USS San Antonio, and I wouldnt mind some feedback/tips on my work.

FYI, I've done the ship in it's initial design configuration - without the ugly composite masts.

Also, could you please advise me how and when to credit people - I've used all bits of parts sheets here, but some adive is appreciated.

Thanks

Hey I Like the AEMS/S! On that note, your shading is a bit off, I'm not sold on the bow, and you need to move to the latest parts as seen in the USN Parts thread.

It needs a lot of work, but it's not a bad start. I look forward to seeing more.

Wow, that looks pretty good for your first drawing. I think for crediting, if you use bits from the parts sheets, you don't need to credit. If you use substantial chunks of someone elses drawing, you do need to credit.

I joined the forum a couple of months ago and I reccommend going through the other threads in the beginners section, where you'll find a lot of useful advice given to other newbies. It helped me a lot.

Welcome and I'm looking forward to seeing the finished article :)

Thanks guys, your feedback is very helpful!

TimothyC, how do you recomend I improve the shading? I've tried to differentiate between different areas of the hull, but the area below the brodge is a bit harder to render.

I'm also looking for some hi-res pictures of the helo deck and the top of the ship - if anyone has a link to some, it'd be appreciated!

Thanks
Jezza

I am going to watch the progress of this one closely...this is going to be a great rendition of the USS San Antonio.

Shading: it depends one where the light are coming from.

Looking better. For the hull lines, Hood did an AU version at one point (that can be found here) so that might be a good guide.
That said, please fix the outdated parts (including TACAN, Satcoms and SLQ-32s).
