Would a vessel like this be viable today. This is a AU the main guns are 15" and would use a version of the GPS directed shell

GPS shell?, I'm sure they are inertial and have no guidance, maybe for the targetting

It's not a battleship so much as it is a monitor, and while better than a battleship I'm not sure what missions you have in mind. Would you mind elaborating on said missions?

So it should be MGM(Monitor,Guided Missiles) or GMM(Guided Missile Monitor)??

There should also be fire control for the 15" and the secondary gun

BMG (I'm serious; BM was historically used for Monitors and G for guided missile). The problem that comes up is that with the advent of loitering armed UAVs, I'm not sure that shore bombardment with gun heavier than 8" is going to make a come back. :?

Currently in use?

I want to say the 152mm/53 Bofors on the Almirante Grau are the largest ones in service at the moment. BAe was working on a 155mm Gun for the RN, but that got canceled late last year, and AGS (the gun on the Zumwalts) is 155mm as well, but isn't in service yet.

So Peru has the largest guns...Wow!

Mainly because it used to be a WW2 cruiser, rather than any design reasoning.
