Post subject:  Fictional Minicompact Car

This is my first drawing posted on the SB forums, and also on the SB discord server.

The NC Lasso mark 1 is a British minicompact car by Norman Clarke, LLC., an automobile manufacturer that also manufacturers aircraft. The car was sold in United Kingdom, with moderate success.

Design
The NC Lasso mark 1 was the size of a classic Fiat Panda; the height, length, and width were basically the same as the classic Fiat Panda. The styling was slightly odd. The car’s front fascia bears some resemblance to the Ford Cortina Mark II. The car’s cab was more backwards but still retains the trunk.

The NC Lasso mark 1 was slightly over engineered, with odd design elements at that time; it had gull-wing doors to ease egress, even if such doors were unnecessary. a number of safety features which only included airbags on the steering wheel and glovebox, and seatbelts, uncommon for British cars at that time. The entire body of the car, including the doors, were made of lightweight aluminium. The car used the front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout and had an almost relatively powerful 470cc inline-4 engine. The car had a 5-speed “dog-leg” manual transmission unusual for such a small car.

History
The car was developed by American designer and retired navy seaman A.J. Willings (1910-2000), who joined the company in 1963 to design cars for Norman Clarke. At that time, the company was struggling which design is the best, until A.J. Willings devised that design, which would ultimately become the NC Lasso mark 1. The prototype was tested with success, and the car was put into production in April 15 1977 in the Birmingham factory in Birmingham, England, United Kingdom; it was a moderate success, with middle-class men starting to buy the car. Eventually production ceased on October 23 1999, with the last Lasso delivered the day after production ceased.

Any replies are welcome. ^^

Hello! Welcome to the shipbucket!
It's an interesting entry. Design looks like some cars that used to be sold as kits to be built in owner's own garage and it's aerodynamics must have been totally atrocious, but definitely looks quite quirky (in the positive sense). Quite "clean" style-wise, though IMHO the corners are too emphasized (at least most of them). Also elements like mirrors (at least in side view) or wipers don't need to be outlined in black.

Sorry, I literally tried to follow The 3 pixel rule. :(

At least, the body is SUPPOSED to be welded, if I am not wrong...

Plus, you’ve made a number of mistakes, plus the blue is SUPPOSED to be see trough glass.

Had you bothered to look closely on older FD works (in fact, SB too), you'd notice that 3-pixel rule does not apply to elements that are very obviously too small for it.

I don't know if the body of a car that exists only in your head is "supposed" to be welded and wether you're wrong about it. I'm not a medical specialist specialising in human brains.
Though I can say that a post-1920s car with so completely square shapes wouldn't get any buyers except perhaps as an eccentric DIY kit.

Blue is not supposed to be ONLY "see through" glass. Unless somebody told you that during that single week you are here, but didn't told that to me during that 9 years I am here. Care to share with me the name of that person?
And btw. YOU - after one week and one work in the Beginners Forum - are telling ME - after 9 years and some 1700 FD-scale works (counting just files) in the Archive, that I'm "making a number of mistakes" regarding FD style? DO YOU?
