I have, I believe, a pertinent question, which is in some ways a support of KW;s efforts: most LPD:s And LPH:s are "stern heavy", i e they usually draw more water aft, at the stern than at the stem. Will it not, in fact, defy and kinda cancel out the ambitions of SB, if, in spite of these real-life facts, one is compelled to draw a straight WL? To me it sounds quite rigid, bordering to the absurd. Most ships do draw more or less even keel, that's true, but you do have important exceptions, and those amphibious vessels are precicely such.

I daresay that drawing the WL straight may actually destroy the overall positive impression of this vessel, and, furthermore detract from its actual, true lines! Those are my five cents in the bucket...

You level the ship according to its waterline. Also, Ships with Docking well do change their waterline when loading water in...but we don't draw them in such position.

I am not really happy with the paintjob you put on the LCVP. if you look at pictures, you can see that the colour of the masts of the albion is darker then the 'black' on the lcvp. on your drawing it is the opposite. also, the Camo scheme is wrong, and the hull is coloured wrong: the lines I put on it are not the lines of the colours, but of an framework on it. the large light grey part you put on the waterline is completely missing on the real thing.
also, you removed the small differences that the 6th part of the hatch has, and you have placed the mast wrong, and you forgot that it is folded when loaded on the albion.
also you have made the lifebouy a size of around 2 meters......a little big, don't you think?
so, I hope you will fix all this soon. I also hope that this will not end with me doing this thing entirely, while I still have to do a lot.... TT.TT

First the lifebouy: It is 7 pixel high = 1.05 m! The accurat size of the SB standard lifebouy from the parts sheet (I guess I should hold the standard!).
The colour black in camo and on the masts are the same (very dark grey), but I'm aware that in reality they are different. Now one question: Where is the line here? I was told earlier, that all black inside the outside line should be non-black but a darkish grey I should use instead. Maybe my perception is wrong, but it seemed to me that I should use it everywhere I would show black.
The LCVP has not these frameworks (I can't see them on any pictures I've found), the proportions aren't especially good (sorry!) and I haven't place the mast wrong. It's correct that the mast normally is folded, but it is also seen hoist, so I didn't forget that but made a choice (obviously wrong!). The small differences I've seen on some pictures and others didn't have them (that's not a big issue for me). But it seem to be my biggest obstacle this LCVP. The only thing I want is a LCVP which looks fairly simular to the real one. But I guess we have some different eyes :?
Oh, I nearly forgot: The large light grey part on the waterline was a line I didn't do anything about from the original. I agree, it looks wrong, but the hull is different to the real, so I wouldn't do anything, because then it also would be wrong. I'm really exhausted over this d..... LCVP

-.- I see. well, if that is the case I will fix the lcvp.... when I have time. you have changed things that should not be changed, and made mistakes. the difference between us is: I have some experience drawing in this style, and I worked from different pictures, which you have not as far as I can see. the one posted by colombimike in the other thread is an perfect ref, where I can take all details from, which you have missed or misdone.

Perhaps I'm very stubborn and persistent, but I've got 106 photos (in different quality) of both HMS Albion and HMS Bulwark from different angles. There are photos which shows both the ships in different configurations. That are the material I've studied plus the actual facts on the Albion Class which inspired me to draw HMS Bulwark. :ugeek:
I've find many positive and helpful comments and I'm very open for criticism. There have been many good points, which I've corrected along the way. :D
But some of the critics are substantiated from a single photo, and when I know a comment is wrong, I will think it's on the right place to oppose it. Indead, I'm a beginner, but a novice can sometimes see the right thing ;)

I'm quite sure I've got the right dimensions, but I'll check :P
Thank you for the arrows! I couldn't figure out earlier what you ment. About the rear gate it had to be seen behind the hull, when you look direct at starboard!
I'm glad that you too can see the landing ramp on the LCVP's are wrong. But my own drawing was dismissed, so now I've taken the LCVP acelanceloet gave me.
What's wrong with the life craft?
I realize that it's possible to put some more details on the ship. But first I have to recognise each item. It's difficult at most of the photos (poor quality or the angle of the photo prevent a good look), but thank you for the "tubes". I've seen them before but not in a right angle :P

You've used one with a small outboard engine when the one used in reality is a far more substantial unit with inboard engine and Targa Beam.
