If it's not goalkeeper then what is it and why do you have that and AK-630M-2 in addition to it? Also if you are going for vertical launchers why bother with the Mk29s?

It's either the Chinese knock-of (Type 703 I think it's called) or Mitch's old (and horrible) Twin GoalKeeper.

The single gun ciws are of my own design, based off of ak-630/phalanx with different director, optics, and AEGIS integration. I'm playing with the idea of a modified ak630m-2 to improve firepower, plus it seems as though Russian ciws are more robust in design and could survive the blast of the guns. However they appear to be inaccurate, hence no ak-230. The Mk 29 are ment as AA defense positions for closer targets. The vls is primarily long range weaponry.

Actually yes, the director layout is based off, but different from the Chinese nock off.

No really, think about it. The early goalkeepers had dispersal issues*, and so had every other CIWS based around that gun.
Now tell me you can build one with two of them on a frame that's about the same size, yet not have dispersal issues and quite possibly mechanical ones as well. And then of course there's the question whether the extra gun even gives you anything in the first place

*Fancy speak for can't hit shit.

You do know there's a dedicated VLS for the SeaSparrow? It packs about three times as many missiles in the same volume and it has better reaction time.

When in doubt, throw more steel at the problem. This should solve all light-caliber dispersal issues.

The SPY-1 layout makes no sense; presumably this has been mentioned many times already, but cannot be mentioned enough.

So let me get this straight you have two very different styles / types of CIWS firing (I presume unless you rebuilt either of the guns) two different types of 30mm? 30mm x165 and 30mm x173. If it were me I'd replace all of those mounts and give it six to eight using common ammunition and maybe half of them with missiles and guns a la Palma.

how does the spy-1 not make sense, because of the other radars mounted on the superstructure? the spy-1 is rigged to detect contacts and relay info to the CIWS and ak-130s while the top mounts are meant for the heavy weapons. As for the CIWS, they are meant to be the same caliber.
