smaller is not cheaper, btw, JSB. steel is cheap, systems are expensive, so smaller ships with the same systems are actually more expensive to build and maintain because it all has to fit in smaller spaces.

that said, BatlleshipLover, you still have an radar system that cannot guide the standard missiles (and might not even be able to handle ESSM), because you lack the tracking function APAR has.
the hatch in the hangar looks very big and will almost certainly cause structural problems, so what is it for? if you can justify it, keep it, but otherwise....?

you also lack air intakes for the gas turbines and the transom stern goes very deep, resulting in drag that can be avoided. the ship seems oversized for the systems it has on board, the LCF frigate has much the same on I think half the displacement (only a smaller VLS load)

How do I fix this problem then?

use APAR or one of it's competing sytems instead of the I-mast 400. yes, it is that simple :P

when you fit APAR, you can remove them.
another option is to fit a targeting radar and keep the SPG-62 (well SPG-62 are developed for AEGIS and if you go for dutch systems, you might be better off going for STIR's.
so, the options are (with dutch systems)
* APAR + SMART-L
* SMART - S + SMART-L + STIR 240
* SMART-L + DA-08 + STIR 240 (would make little sense though, and I have never seen an proposal of it, while I have seen or there is build of the above 2)

There's a bell curve to it though. Make things too small and you have to come up with fancy and expensive workarounds. On the other hand making a ship larger isn't without its own costs. All that extra space needs electrical fittings, paint, fire suppression systems, surveillance systems, alarm systems, hydraulics, furniture etc. Which takes crew to maintain and provide damage control. Who needs to be fed, housed and paid. Not to mention that detailed design work is hellishly expensive in and of itself.
