I would be tempted to shorten the bows a little. At the moment the ship looks a little unbalanced with a lot of space forward but a very short quarterdeck. Other than that, it looks a very nice design. |

Nice work from a new artist - hoping to see more.
SB style wise first: the credits appear to be not in Arial, or to be slightly larger than they should Ship's name and class usually go on the first line,and artist's name in parentheses like so (Matedow).
The title/credits should read:USA, Derry Class USS Derry CA-32 (1922) (MateDow) Don't worry about the specific font size - just get it as close as possible. |

Here are my thoughts on this. With a long and narrow hull there wouldn't be a lot of buoyancy at the bows where it tapers in. In order to keep the mount #1 as dry as possible it would need to be farther back from the bow that it would on a broader hull. It would also help to keep the moments forcing the bow down into the water balanced as well. Other than that, it looks a very nice design. Moving the mount toward the stern combined with the shallow sheer of the bow should have allowed the vessel to fight in a seaway. I hope that this helps. |

It's looking good to me. I'd maybe include some more details, like paravanes/booms, boat booms, etc. Maybe look at USN cruiser drawings of a similar era for ideas... the sky's the limit for small details, since you're not drawing a real ship. |
