the charles du gaulle is about the smallest you can have for landings and takeofs at the same time... that's why I suggested an reverse angled aircraft carrier. otherwise - maybe an ship with vtol aircraft?

Yeah, that why I'm starting over.

I want to keep it within these parameters.
Length, Beam, Draft: 600, 120, 30
I want it to launch and retrieve CATOBAR aircraft as well as a full Marine Heli attack squadron (2 V-22, 4 Chinook, 2 UH-1Y, 8 AH-1Z)

ezgo394...

Too much stuff, too small a ship.
Draw a box the size of your hanger and try to fit everything you want in it, leaving enough room for things to move around in there. I'm starting to design carriers for my N-verse nation, and I find that even if a ship can carry a certain amount of dead weight- say, 50 planes worth- there is no guarantee that it can accommodate them because of space requirements.

Your hangar deck will probably not be more than 500 feet long and 80 feet wide. that's not alot of space.

I said I was starting over. It seemed too small to me also. I have decided that the Navy will just operate attack helicopters and run with assault ships, instead of CATOBAR carriers. We'll just let the Air Force do all the dirty work.
I am currently designing a mega assault ship, with the similar specs, 800, 120, 25.
My rough calculations.
2000 Marines, 1000 normal.
100-200 vehicles
4 LCAC
Here is what I have so far.

Does anyone have top down views of the LCAC, UH-1Y, CH-46, and AH-1Z?
Thank you.
