As i am not that good with ships i tryed to improve the design off the River Class Light Cruiser. And i think the second or third looks the best.

I agree IMO it comes down to what sort of ship you you want ? (AA or ant surface ?)

3rd makes a nice AA Cruiser with 10 x 5' and 40mm (2x2?) + 3 x (1.1/20mm ?)(I would remove the gun near the funnel ? what size is it 3'/88/4 ? )

2nd is more a standard light CL with 8 x 6' + 4 x 3'(?) + 40mm (2x2?) + 3 x (1.1/20mm ?)

I might try to improve the arcs of the 40mm by moving it out from between the funnels ? (maybe fit 2 one each side of front funnel ?)

Weight wise (from navweps)

5' twin Mark 29 Mod 0 (from Atlanta class) = (49,000 kg)

6' twin depends on type (what is yours ?),
- Swedish 15.2 cm/55 (6") Model 1930 = 72t
- old USN 6"/53 (15.2 cm) = 52.6 mt (very old design)
- Britain 6"/50 (15.2 cm) BL Mark XXIII Mark XXI = 91 tons (92 mt) (heavy due to firing fast at 60deg elevation  :( )
- Britain Nelson (6): Mark XVIII Weight = (76,204 kg)
Not sure what yours will weight maybe 70t ?

So (4 x 70t) = 280t v (5 x 50t)= 250t,
That's 30t lighter for the 5' guns when you add in removing the 3' or 88 ? (you only need to save another 20t)
I think you can go with 6 twin 5'/38 (maybe have 1 each side ? or can you fit another one out front ? That or fit a load more 40mm, probably much more effective till you get VT shells ;) )

@ JSB thanks mate for this information. It will be the swedish 152mm as i want to use dutch designs items for most of the ships pre ww2 and for afther ww2.
And Rochfort and The Netherlands have a defence treaty where in case that Holland will be over run by a enemy like happend in mei ,1940. Rochfort will help to defend the dutch colony's.

And what abouth teh AA cruiser i think i wil keep it with 5 twin Mark 29 mod and ad mor 40 and 20 mm AA guns.

I did some work on the Rochfort River Class Light Cruiser. Afther some tips from JSB, acelanceloet and Krakatoa i came up withh this design. The first will be a normal light cruiser with Bofor 150mm guns 4x2 built between 1937 and 1940 , and the second a AA cruiser build between 1940 and 1943.

in your 3rd design of 5 and 2nd design of 2, it seems that if the Z mounting is sited on the centerline, that the funnel is awfully close to the gun mount. besides the issue with interference, don't tell me that that boilers are located on the other side of the magazine bulkhead

In the 150mm LC (top one),
- I think you need more 3'/4'(?) AA guns 4 would be good (twins for 8 better but defiantly more than 2 ATM)
- I think the gun doesn't look very AA (its to low and long) looks more like 4.7 low angle (might just be me what is it ?)
- I think you need a AA director for the 3'/4' guns

For the 5/38 LC I would try to move the Q gun to get better arcs (bow or stern ?) but many ships had Q guns so not bad (maybe move the 20mm near funnel as they will cut down the arcs ?)

@ Cutter3046 i will change the posision off that gun by tuning it around like it is on the American Destroiers.

@ JSB I change the 150mmLC it have now 4 single 4inch AA guns. As the guns were not AA guns
And will add some AA directors for these guns.

And abouth the 5/38 LC i turnd the Q gun around ,and leave this design like it is .And use your idee for a next type LC
