the 747 ain't to a far fetched idea, I mean the US has tested launching an ICBM out of the back of a C5 so putting a similar contraption in a C17 or C5 with several Cruise missiles aint that different..... |

Note that, as the Iowas already had four funnels trunked into two, to trunk that further into a single funnel would've been massive. |

Heuhen,It was to be the fifth Iowa class BB. She was still under construction when the war ended and was cancilled in Aug. 1945. |

IIRC didnt they use the Illinois's bow to repair the iowa after it accidentally rammed a destroyer? |

Google it, I think you will find that bow was from the incomplete hull of USS Kentucky - the remainder of which wasn't scrapped till 1958. Cheers |
