Hello everyone! For some weird reason, there is no usable drawing at all of the french battleships Charles Martel and Carnot (both amongst the most interesting looking specimens of their kind) to be found on the net - nobody even seemed to have scanned one from an old edition of Conway's 1860-1905. Does anyone have halfway detailed drawings of these two? Better ones than those taken out of contemporary editions of Weyer's and Brassey's? Pleeeeaaaase?!?!? Greetings Garlicdesign |

I found these, but i don't know how accurate they are. From what i get these drawings are for the Jaureguiberry, which the same class as the two youre looking for. |

Here is a link to French Navy designs see here. The site contains drawings which were scanned from actual builder plans. It has the Jaureguiberry (she was 114m long the Charles Martel was 112m long, and there are plans of the Massena also a sister ship which was the longest at ~115m long) |

Thanks a lot! Unfortunately, for 'sister ships', the Carnot, Charles Martel, Jauréguiberry and Masséna look about as silmilar as... four completely dissimilar things, actually, so the drawing of the Jauréguiberry (that one has already well progressed on my drawing board, maybe she will be ready before saturday to compete for upload) is no more helpful for drawing the Carnot and Charles Martel as, say, a picture of USS Washington for drawing USS South Dakota. Nevertheless, your effort is appreciated, everyone! Garlicdesign |
