I have a friend who's looking for deckplans for ferryboats of the type used in New England in the 1920s and 30s.

Hi. I am trying to find a norwegian oiler, Sjömand, a thornycroft type 2820 GRT launched in 1921. But I can not find even the type (Thornycroift 2820 tons) in the british oilers of of the RN in WWII. Can you give me some suggestions about where to search? Thanks.

Finding old ship like those, are very hard and sometimes you have to be lucky:

It's a Norwegian ship. So you would find it in archive here in Norway, but where...

What I could find, since I live in Norway, so when I search after something, Norwegian things will always come first...: (Note: Norwegian webpages are in Norwegian :D

She was build as TT Sjømand, in 1933 she was sold to the Peruvian Navy and Renamed "Parinas". in 1961 she was broken up

Thanks a lot, Hendrik! Do you know? In the peruvian navy page I can not find any pic so neat. Nice little oiler! Pariñas was the first oiler of the MGP. The second oiler (a decade long after WWII) was also a scandinavian one, but in this time it was danish. Do you have the length of Sjomand? (how is the pronunciation? "Sj" sounds in your lenguage as "Si" or as an "Sh"? I am making the question because there is an autoinmune illness, Sjogren Syndrome, and down here, our pronunciation of that sickness is very "a notre plasir" ). Once again, thanks!
Aldo.
