I am currently redoing this class as my scaling was off on the last drawing.

The above are useful but I'd be grateful of any other good quality pictures, plans and photos of Furious as she was in 1917 (with Y turret). I'm finding it hard to get all the details right and a plan I have of Glorious/ Courageous is different in many respects.

Many thanks,

Once again I'm calling for help!

Bombhead has kindly given me a side profile of Furious as she looked in 1939. I was always a bit iffy about its accuracy and I'm about 50% through the drawing but I've found a series of errors on the drawing and nothing is matching up to what it should. Photo references are confirming this. I'm seriously doubtful now of any validity of the plan.

Has anyone got a good decent-res starboard plan of HMS Furious at any time from the 1920s-1940s? Without a decent plan this project is going to stumble unless I can verify which bits I've currently drawn are out in relation to the rest without compromising on accuracy somewhere. And its a damn shame becuase what I've drawn so far is looking very good.

Many thanks!

Thanks BH. You've given most of these to me before to get me going (plus other very useful photos). I'm working from the large grey plan (top pic) but is seriously messed up somewhere just aft of the island but I can't seem to get to root of the problem (is the island out or the vents etc. etc.), so it might be a case of serious pixel fudge (which I hate cos' I *know* its not correct) or a composite job with another plan. Also on the plan, the forward freeboard is out and I suspect other minor errors on the plan but photo refs have eliminated much of these. Why does the final drawing of the series always seem to give the most bother!!

I'm hoping to do the 1939 version, then the 1942 (a few extras added) and the retro her for the 1920s look without the island. That's the plan anyhow...
