-continued talk about LHA-8 which will be the first US navy ship to feature the new EASR radar, which calls to consolidated future CVN and LHA/D type ship radars with a common system. LHA-8, followed by CVN-79 will be the first to feature this system which will either be a navalized USMC G/ATOR radar or a derivative of the AMDR. THis device will also be fitted into LX(R), future Ford class ships, then refitted on older ships like LPD-17, LHD 4-8, LHA -6,-7, and newer Nimitz class ships.

Looks like some folks in the USMC have been boning up on their Tom Clancy, except that when Clancy wrote 'Red Storm Rising' about a hypothetical Warsaw pact V Nato conventional clash, the LASH ship in an amphibious assault role (Carrying LCACs too!!!!) was flying the hammer and sickle, not the stars and stripes!

Some of these graphics give ideas for AU ships, or even for trying to find sources to make them in SB-scale.
