Hi ! Does anyone saw a top view drawing with some wooden planks for the US Navy WW2 warships somewhere over the forum ? And the part sheets ? |

There are a few people who do the top-downs, David Latuch and Syzmo are the only WW2 USN top down drawers to spring to mind. Otherwise the simple 3x15pix is a good guidline |

I'm pretty sure the USN painted their decks during the war as a camouflage measure. |

So I was walking the decks of USS Wisconson the other day as well as a few decks made out of teak and you know wood decking really is more grey than tan in color after a couple years. |

So I was walking the decks of USS Wisconson the other day as well as a few decks made out of teak and you know wood decking really is more grey than tan in color after a couple years.
I know I spent two years on the Newport News (CA-148) and you're quite correct, teak does turn gray.

so long teak doesn't get oiled often enough.. it goes gray. |

Henrik, The USN holystoned the decks with pumice blocks to sand and remove the salt build-up the was little time for oiling the deck.
