Not another helicopter carrier but rather a helicopter destroyer

Primarily drawn out of boredom and wanting to draw something different / new I decided upon something like a Hyuga, this is what she came out like...
There's obviously some systems lifted from erik's latest work due to their near-futureness falling in line with requirements.

General Particulars:
  • ~12,500t (Standard)
  • 184m (WL) * 28.5m (WL) * 7.7m
  • ±340 Crew with additional berthing for another ~260
  • >28kts via IFEP from two MT30s and two MT7s
Sensors:

Additionally
  • SQQ-90 type dual-band sonar array
  • CAPTAS-4 type towed variable-depth array
Armament:
  • 24x (4*6) Eject-launch VLS cells for Sea Lance and HyFly
  • 24x (12*2) Mk.56 VLS for ESSM
  • 4x Mk.49 MOD 4 launchers for Block 2 RAM and Griffin
  • 4x 30mm Bushmaster in Seahawk mounts
  • 6x (2x3) 324mm tubes for both LW torpedoes and countermeasures
Defensive Measures
  • 4x Centurion launchers (For various decoys)
  • 2x Nulka launchers
  • Towed acoustic decoy(s)
  • 324mm SVTT launched torpedo-killers and acoustic decoys
Boats + Landing Craft
  • Pockets for two 9 or 11 metre RHIBs / Daughter Craft (Starboard) plus 7 meter ship's boats (Port)
    • Either RHIBs for an embarked landing force or unmanned surface or subsurface vehicles depending on requirements
    Aircraft
    • Hangar for 10-20 aircraft of varying types depending requirements
    • Compound-coaxial medium weight helicopters to fulfil the task of ASW + ASuW as well as VERTREP and AEW / OTH targeting
    • Compound-coaxial rotor UAVs which can undertake similar duties to the larger manned helicopters autonomously or via human control
    • VTOL capable UAV used primarily in the ISTAR and ASuW roles (think an unmanned Textron Scorpion with VTOL capability)
    • Numerous small UAVs such as camcopters and Scan Eagle
~Mark.

Seems pretty reasonable, and definitely attractive. I'm not totally in love with the radar fit -- X-band only is rather suboptimal for aircraft control and volume search.

I wonder about the lack of a traditional flight deck gallery.

I also think your manning is extraordinarily optimistic.

I'm just going on what was available for Hyuga for crewing (in retrospect I'm thinking that is just ship's company and not including air group) ditto the lack of starboard gallery.

To clarify the larger IE volume search panels aren't X-band only the smaller panels.

Those are awfully small to be capable S-band sets.

Right, made some minor adjustments to the mast and how everything is arranged, better to your eye than previously?

Yeah, that's probably workable. I think the best solution would be to cantilever a few SATCOM domes on either side of the island like on the Wasps, and stick a rotating L-band array on the top of the mast, but this is likely fine.

your SIG and ELINT look like HK001 and HK014 which are VHF/UHF sets.

Why not have 2 "multi-spectrum" satcom?
My guess is that you'll switch out the feed to accommodate for witch band you want to send/receive on.

Can i ask what is COMMO?

I'll have a tinker about with that but I'll probably keep the faces for now.

Yes? They aren't specifically intended to be the R&S antennas mind.

I had pondered where to place a second dome without it getting in the way of anything. As yet I've been unable to find a happy sweet spot for a second dome that either doesn't look out of place or that doesn't interfere with other things.

I've always used it to abbreviate communications outfit, not in any official parlance but just my shorthand.

The HK014 and HK001 are not intended for use with ELINT as they are communications only, you would need a separate system for such operations.
also your VHF/UHF COMMO patches on the left side of your tower are pointing towards your chimney and the other tower. blocking their LOS

With the Satcom i ment replace the commercial satcom sphere for your multi-spectrum one, as my guess is that the commercial one would only be capable of one band only (a commercial one) and the Multi-spectrum one for 2 or more bands. (if its based on the Thales satcom system)
