Hi everybody!
Here is my personal design for a Russian LHD... It started as a "personal challenge",a long time ago (first sketchs are from 2008!), before being part of this forum, , but now I think it would be interesting to share it with you... I credited Little Bird & Gollevainen as it is largely based on the former's Italian Multifunzionale LHD & many drawings of my Shipbucket Hero ;) ... As I said before, I started it "for me only" so I didn't bother about keeping a register of all used sources, if somebody thinks he/she deserves to be credited, just say it, and I apologize beforehand...

About the design itself, I personnally feel that the now ill-fated Mistrals were not the best choise for the Russian Navy, and having an industry capable of designing and building these type of ships, I believe that a domestic design could better suit the needs and peculiarities of the Russian Navy...It's layout is mainly inspired on the South Korean Dokdo (a design I like more, I see it more "balanced"), although a little larger and with some typical russian ship features.
The idea is to start the project in the early 2000's after the Russian resurgence following the dire 90's years, entering service around 2010... These ships are intended to be a "proof of concept", not intended for a large production run, but to to gain experience with them, both in design and operation, so only two are planned, one for the Black Sea Fleet, and one for the Pacific Fleet, as you can guess by their names, and would use existing and proven solutions as much as possible... No much innovation on systems or armament, the ship type itself will be the innovation.

Displacement: 22.000 tonnes full load
Lenght: 210 m
Beam: 32 m
Propulsion: CODAD (4 engines) 20-25 knots max.
Crew: 1000 max
Well: 975 m2 (65mx15m) (1 Murena LCAC or 4 Serna LCA)
Hangar: 1620 m2 (90x 18)

Sensors:
Podberezovik Air/Search Radar
2x Positiv Radars
4 x MR-90 FC Radar (for SAMs)
Navigation Radars (one for Helicopter Approach Control)

Armament
36 x SA-N-12 SAM
4 x Kashtan CIWS
3 x UDAV-1M ASW RL
4 x 14.5 mm MTPU MG

TK25E EW Suite
8 x KT-216 Decoy launchers

I hope you like it! And as always... Any questions, suggestions, comments or criticism will be welcomed!!! :D ;)

PD: A known fault is the absence of SONAR, and it's related dome, to feed the UDAV-1 M system... I'm not an expert in these kind of equipment, and I could not find much information about current available systems, so I still canĀ“t decide about it, but didn't want to postpone the unveiling more... If someone can enlighten me, I would appreciate it!! :?

I like it. It's always nice to see more amphibs. Plus, it seems well equipped to defend itself.

Personally I found it wondeful. Unfortunately my knowledge on Russian systems is limited.

Looks really nice and functional, I like how you "russified" the design by going all overboard on the SAM loadout :D
The drawing is pretty good, the top view is very informative, particularly for a large flat-top like that.
One note though, it feels like it could use some more relief. On the bow weapons deck, you have two small shaded boxes (slanted with one thick black border) which are not visible in the side view, while the RBU blast shield and the CIWS cast no shadows?

Nice drawing, and it shows a lot of thought. I always like to see that.

I don't think there's any need to have a duplicate set of ESM/ECM goodies, but I could be wrong.

A good and balanced design, better than the average defences, and very well drawn!

An attractive design and it looks well thought out.
