Okay, I see a lot of people here like doing surface vessels, but only a few, like doing submarines. while a generic modern submarine shape is ovular and "simple" my SSC/SSK was anything but simple. Your requirements are: Vessels must be shorter than 61 m (202 ft), designed for shallow water operations. Enjoy and have fun! |

This is something I'll be having a go at... Me and OS were discussing the earlier attempts and a quick drawing by me just yesterday evening... |

if I have time, count me in! but, questions: must they be able to go deep, must they operate independently, and most important: year? as right now everything from an manned torpedo to an drug-runner semi submersible sub to an almost-full SSK is possible from your specs. |

Okay, to elaborate: 1970's to Modern Tech and design Operating independently or in a wolf pack Fully functional, able to go deep is not required but advised Larger than a Midget Submarine above 150 tonnes |

As most of you know, Van and I had our own personal challenge so I'll repost mine here: |

Cool idea, nighthunter! My 70s design from an AU I've been working on - modest SSK with substituted Harpoon in place of my yet to be drawn AShM. 1st attempt at a sub and I gotta say, it's a lot harder than drawing other warships. |

Nice one Kilomuse! Here's my boats: Kiyo Class coastal submarine, constructed 1970-1973. They're mostly basted on the Type 206 and Type 205, with a little bit of Russian thrown in, mostly on the sail. Batch 1 boats were built from 1970-1971, and were painted in a dark blue scheme: Batch 2 boats differed very slightly, most changes on the inside, and were painted a more traditional black. All Kiyo Class subs were repainted in this scheme by 1983. BTW, the fins (and rudders) on the bottom are double. |

While not as bad as Obsydian Shade's I think you're going to have many of the same problems. Most acutely, because of the big sonar the TT room will stretch so far back that you'll have torpedoes in your command room. Additionally they're so low that they're likely to interfere with the battery installation. |
