I plan to get the BCG to work. so I moved it here to discuss more about it. so it's not geting so messy in my AU world topic.

As build:

I went away from the oil tank canister for large missiles to a sort of VLC. The idea is that after that Caledonia has used her on a few mission, they find that it is easier and cheaper to have two cruiser than a large platform with missiles. so they build her into a combined vessel, see the next picture.

Refit:

she still has some missiles on board, in addition MK22 been replaced with MK41. she still has the large ammunition depots. The big change was that, all the missiles and ammunition depots rear was replaced with helicopter deck and hangar. it was also built a new superstructure around the old superstructure to increase lugar capacity.

Approximately how she can look on her inside. (I'm no expert in this area, for example it may be that the reactors may need some more space!)

Thats... kinda cool. I like the second one. It's like the UXV, just older and bigger.

I'd do the following to the second one:
  • Drop the second VLS down to the main deck
  • Reduce the size of the superstructure
  • Enlarge the hanger in the now smaller superstructure
  • Add a split VLS outside of the landing areas aft
  • Ditch the Harpoon launchers - if you really want Harpoons, just say that the full VLS units were finished and deployed
  • Add SM-2MR/ER, Right now you've got CIWS (RAM), Self defense (ESSM), and theatre ABM (SM-3), with nothing between the last two.

Droped the second VLS to the main deck.
Reduced the size off the superstructure with one deck.
The hangar is now halfway under the bridge superstructure. there is also a workshop there. it is also an large hangar under the helicopter deck for storage and repair of helicopters.
Split VLS outside of the landing area aft, owered a half a deck, to get the weight down as far as possible.
Harpoon in VLS
Added SM-2MR/ER
added extra barges where the other VLS was placed before.

for me the ship begins to looks like a commando carrier or an amphibious assault carrier.
wonder how many men I have in her, and how large task force she can take, (I think for her style she should carry more of a special force).

I have doubts about the tomahawk and the SM-2 fitting in that aft VLS.... otherwise very nice! I only miss some RHIB's on board, you only have combat boats and LCVP's on board now, if I see it correct?

Intend to replace one of the helicopter with a lightweight combat helicopter, what will be the best one?
