my first crack at an Aircraft carrier, I have the basic shape but I wan you guys opinion before proceeding further.

The above water hull should be higher than it currently is if you want to keep anything below deck (people, planes, stores, machinery etc) You could lengthen the island and shorten the stack too.

I second blackbuck. while the one you made will float, you will not have enough hangar space AND enough freeboard.

Your ship, as mentioned above, is too shallow. You don't have enough height, and the draught is too shallow. The stern doesn't look right, the rudder is too inboard, and the propellers are too modern for a ship of the shape you so far presented.
I would suggest you take your dreadnaught and instead of guns etc, give it a hangar deck and so on. It will be a start of an aircraft carrier as was done in real life 9Most early carriers were conversion of other ships - USS Saratoga, or IJN Akagi are good examples).

take three, Not flight deck is 72 pixels above the water line(same as Midnightnova's drawing of the saratoga).

Also you might want to delete your previous attachments as they take up space.

That funnel should be really cut down to a half at least
