Shipbucket

This is based on a....well a.... dead drunk's tale. Story goes, a local around the SA/VIC border in Australia during the 1930's and 1940's spotted a coastal freighter which sailed with no flag and no lights. He claimed it was about 200ft long and had 4 decks and for the early sightings 2 funnels which were gold. He also claimed that the hull was dark green, rather like a few local freighters and traders at the time but during WWII, the entire ship was jet black and had only larger funnel. He also claimed it was only seen at night during the war and if no coastal traffic, would be flying along at impressive speeds (story goes that it could go about triple the SS Casino's speed(10knots->30knots)

Nothing else has ever surfaced on this ship except it's lack of ever docking in any port and they fact that all sightings were from a drunk who died some time after the war. I'm skeptical myself(as the bloke seemed like he may have been a bit legless at the time) but it seems like a great ship to draw! (this will probably be my last drawings for a week, till I make any progress with the Hindenburg)

Interesting story, but I'm not particularly enamoured with the design. And yeah, as theil says, pick one of any number of ships

True, but it looks like it could only do short hops and no Australian ship matches her

Yeah I don't like the 1930's version much either, but the 1940's version looks better
