Hi, this thread will just be a corner for me to show you some of my PDs every now and then... Schwerer Kreuzer Von der Tann (1940) Basically a 9x20,3cm Hipper-class (or Hipperhorst if you will) with some thicker armor and an extra 105mm twin. Thats about it. cheers! maomatic |

This one started with me wondering if I could make something more conventional out of the Atlantikbomberkreuzer. However, halfway through, I scrapped the idea and came up with a CL with just a touch of the "Atlantik's" bridge structure. For what its worth, I ran it through springsharp and went a little overboard (its a bit silly, lol): 9.380t standard, 33knots max with a range of 10500nm @15knots. Armour was inspired by the Brookylns, with a maximum belt thickness of 120mm and a deck of 60mm. Armament consists of: 9x 149mm (3x3); 10x 88mm (5x2); 12x 37mm (6x2); 20x 20mm (2x4 & 6x2) In true german fashion, it is supposed to be Diesel engined. Might do an "in service" drawing of her in or even post 1945. |

Looks great, the sort of proper light cruiser that the Germans should have worked on. |
