It says in the info that she has 14 inch guns, not 15.

Red Queen honestly seems a bit small to be sporting 15" rifles. I've drawn larger ships with only 12-inchers.
15"? Yeah, probably so. Thats why she has 14".

That's a really cool ship! I do like the name very much!
Also, I wouldn't mind 15" guns on her. I do like ships with overdimentionized guns. 8-)

I meant 14 inch rifles (I was pretty sure I said that), but either way it still strikes me as being a tad small. It sizes up with South Carolina which just has 12-inch rifles:

Those are 14" on the Red Queen. The turrets came from Alvama's BB35 when I drew the base ship for the Republic of Texas.

Yup, you would know, since you drew it in the first place. :D I just modified it some.

I'm curious how springsharp would report this design. I always use it first before drawing to try and get an idea as to whether my idea would work on it. For example my current battlecruiser concept initially had 14in guns but those wouldn't work with the report so I reduced them to 12in firing a heavier shell and that worked fine.

For that, you'd have to ask Redhorse. That BB has been posted in his AU since June. All I did, with his permission, was make modifications to the masts, put a different crane on there and added a second funnel. I believe his springshrp report is posted there at that link.

Ah yes, this post.

I have a feeling the displacement should be greater than it is but that post only includes part of the report. The seakeeping, survivability and sectional strength sections are missing.

Huh, I always thought the Austins were supposed to be 18 knot ships but I'll trust his Springsharp numbers.
