Moving on, I'm not seeing any secondary directors which seems odd, especially when you have two completely unused bridge wings. You might also want to put one on each side of the aft mast since these devices couldn't account for parallax.
Also, reloading the Hedgehog is going to be an interesting exercise to say the least. They were loaded by hand from the outside, so you'll need some sort of workspace in front of them.

unless they are just there as a "one-n-done"emergency measure. Not likely, but its possible.

And I was just kinda thinking about directors earlier. I guess I was just so thrilled to have it back again I posted it a bit prematurely. Wasn't going to take any chances this time around though. ;)

EDIT: OK, think I've addressed those issues. same link as before.

ok, I'm stumped. I've tried several different islands, none of which looked worth a darn. So, I swiped one from one of Bombhead's carriers from about the same time period, and cut/pasted the angled funnel from the JFK onto it. Still looks pretty craptastic, but not nearly as much as the ones I had there previously. So ... any thoughts or advise you could give would be appreciated? Thanks.

That corsair looks a little odd for some reason. I can't quite place my finger on why though...

Island wise, if it were me I'd use a much more chunky affair than what you currently have. The wonderful illustrations of CVA-01, the Malta and Audacious (Ark Royal) show what I mean quite well. There's no reason not to have an angled funnel incorporated into one either.

From the point of view of improving this particular island? I'd raise the glazed areas of the island up somewhat higher to give better views across the flight deck less interrupted by aircraft on deck. As said above I think the island should be more chunky to free up space and make the whole thing less cramped for the numerous people working in there.

Well I said Corsair because he's already got two fighter types on there... That and I can't see the joint for the VI wing. The top view is most certainly a Corsair though, check the blunt radome.

It's supposed to be the A-7 Corsair, which I use for my strike/attack aircraft during this time frame. It was a toss-up between that and the A3J/A-5, but I eventually went with the A-7. Since it and the F-8 look so bloody similar, I may have picked the wrong image off one of the US carriers.
