As tension between Japan and the US increase the New Hampshire once again goes in for another minor refit in early 1941.

1941 Refit
• Curtiss Seagull Float Planes now deployed.
• After cage mast replaced with tower mast.
• Quad 1.1in AA guns installed.
• Forward cage mast removed and a modern boom mast erected in its place CXAM-1 radar installed.

Please take a close look at the fore and aft mk-34 main battery GFCDs . . . do they look okay? I could only find about six or seven photos, the scale might be off.

Why do you have Mk 34 directors? Those were used on cruisers, and not battleships. Also of note, Colo has drawn the mk 34 and can be found on his cruisers and a small part sheet he made a long time ago.

You know, there really isn't a whole lotta information out there about GFCSs out there with respect to "year entered service", order developed, what ship classes employed on etc. I ran into a couple of photos--yes it hurt like a mother FiretrUCKer--that apparently was missidentified.

So, once again I erred thinking that the Mk-34 was the predecessor to the Mk-38. My bad

By the by. She now sports Mk-38s sans radars both fore and aft.

The bridge looks....weird, as much as it pains me to criticize one of your masterpieces. However, I imagine this is just a temporary fix until a more extensive refit can be done?

Absolutely, I'm working on the 1941 & late 1942 refits together, changes in one influence the other. At the moment i'm concentrating on the dorsal views having roughed in the starboard elevation.

Here's what I have so far on the 1942 refit.

The bridge will come around soon.

Hey David, when you are done, do you mind if I include this in my Shipbucket Distributed AU file?

Wait, eight Mk 37 secondary directors? I find this extremely implausible, not to mention kind of pointless!
