Maybe some platforms sticking out for AA guns. Cruiser sized guns never worked on carriers. I would reccomend dual purpose guns.
Depends on the timeframe. Pre-war carriers did in fact have them.
The guns and magazines would take up valuable space and weight. A carrier would also suffer from very thin armor. Having armored flight deck was limiting carrying capacity enough, but adding armor to withstand 8 inch shells would be catastrophic for the air group.
Doesn't change the fact that it was done.

I never denied that it never happened. I`m just saying it won`t work properly on a carrier because of the space required by the turret, barbettes and the magazines.

I agree to an extant with that, carriers should have an escort to deal with the guns anyway

I have modified the imperial so it has multi-use guns.

I'm assuming the dark sections underneath the deck is inset and is close to the hangars, the gun would have to be closer to the center to make sure there is space for the training mechanism and such, however this places it in the way of aircraft and should be placed more offset. may be move the dark sections underneath the guns aft and fore a bit?

Maybe put together some actual specifications for the thing? For all I know there could be more 40mm and 20mm on the port side because of the lack of island superstructure what's your air group meant to comprise? Machinery specs etc. All are nice to bare in mind.
