I've seen that picture on this forum before - it got discussed quite a bit, iirc, and the consensus was "it's stupid" - the VLS is really quite high and the bit between the bridge and the gun just doesn't make sense, I think...

I think it was the VLS - I've tried to find the original discussion, to no avail, and can't quite remember the specifics of the bow bit - the height of the VLS cells I do remember quite clearly, however - apologies, I'm normally able to recall stuff a bit better than this, but it's been a long day...

it was something that i posted in the picture page a while ago. and the census was that it was an excellent submarine!

And what about stretching and lowering that particular area (''B-weapon slot'')? You can at least pack 48 cells worth of VLS in there.

But if this has been already discussed, than I guess it has no use to discuss this any further.

You could in theory fit a 12 shot Mk. 56 VLS in the existing slot. I'm not sure the platform is tall enough to fit a self-defence length Mk. 41 though. Not without interfering with the compartments below.

The Iver Huidveldt can carry sufficient missiles on it's weapons deck that I seriously wonder what that artist was smoking when he put the VLS there.

Also, picture updated with credits, AND the LRASM missile. Because it needed to be drawn, mostly.
