Actually, my friend, I kinda like the look of it! Have to admit, my first proposal for this class didn't feature the I-mast at all, but conventional radar dish technology, and it took me a while to warm to the I-mast, but now I find it quite elegant in an odd sense! Anyway, what I really should've done is to redesign that mast, anticipating the fact that we're discussing a likely design for a decade or so ahead! But I'm a bit lazy there...however, ace, since you know so much about the mast...if you have any ideas on how it might turn out, say 2020, why not draw it and lend it to me and I'll consider it? - I have tried to think ahead of our time, but it can be a hard task sometimes...

well, for some designs you could look at my wingedheroes AU... I made some STIR, APAR and I-mast replacements/combinations, so if you like the look of those, you might like my redesigns ;) btw, the I mast could be placed on 2020 ships still, but maybe with some upgraded radars on board (the I-mast itself is modular, you can put everything in it that fits)

Ok, I will...good tips, since, honestly I never have understood the wingedheroes thing... 8-) - in other words, I've never really looked...

watch out for the rubbish though.... the camelot and fictional heroes classes are masterpieces, most of the others need huge reworks.
(the fictional heroes class already has had it's rework, the camelot's is WIP, so the best parts can be found on those, for the others the radar systems (if you see one you like) need some rework/redetailing.

Very interesting stuff, and, yes, for future reference there might be things that one might want to use, no doubt. They are very highly executed, ace. But, I realize it's probably a better idea to leave it as it is, since the Government's spending would still have reached rather exorbitant levels w/o an entirely new mast technology. Like I pointed out in the former posts about the Tre Kronor-class, some of the weapons' systems are, in fact second-hand, to bring cost down! So, too, I'd presume it'd be in this case... - as I only am trying to keep it on a realistic enough level...

then, for these ships, I would say: keep the I-mast. for the next 5-10 years those can be equipped on ships, with upgrades maybe even longer.

Yes, will do that, and next focus attention on the next two classes.

ace, you mentioned that I used the old drawing of the NH-90. So, having tried to find a newer, more recent one and failed, can you direct me, since I then need to shift all the NH-90s out?

Updated the drawings to feature the latest edition of the NH-90 helicopter (Hkp 14 in Swedish service) I also added the Vega-class Arctic destroyers.
