Designed to bring on board the best features of OPV's then in service Hall Russels came up with a vessel to provide guardships in the Falklands, Carribean, Cyprus and Gibraltar. The class also replaced the Peacok class in Hong Kong when that class were assigned to the Northern ireland Patrol Squadron.

A very nice one. Is it a real Hall Russels design, or just your personnal interpertation of a design by them?
AFIK there was talk about an OPV which combined features from the Peacock class and Castle class OPV's

its a combination of Peacock & Castle haven't seen any pictures or heard of that concept novice but as you can see it makes a very nice OPV. Credited Hall Russels as the to donors were both their designs and I'm sure someone though about it as there was talk of the Castles being originally designed for the oto malara.

Nice little ship. It's nice to see a patrol boat design that's actually suited for the task.
Anyway, the scuppers doesn't appear to have been coloured in.

A nice little design, might have proved adapatable and more effective than what we had. Of course the Treasury looks at that 76mm "do you really need that against Icelandic fishermen" and your back to the Castle. Looks pretty seaworthy too and a nice sized helipad too.

Actually, the RDN experience quite a few cases where 40mm shots weren't enough to make the fishingboats stop. And we're not talking about warning shots here.
